Emily Wu
Emily started learning how to play chess when she was 10 years old. She has always loved to play chess, whether it was with friends or online. It was a way for her to just relax and have fun. She loves teaching! She also loves helping students use the new strategies they’ve developed on their own! Another important lesson that she would like her students to take away from her class is keeping things with an open mind and being willing to accept challenges. And also, to stay bold and have fun!
“Chess is a unisex game, but still to this day people think that it is only a male game. I am here to prove that wrong.”. Chess can be a very beneficial game for girls because not only it proves society wrong about stereotypes, but it also makes girls shine more. In her free time, she is an artist and performer that likes to use her creative mindset to create things endlessly. She is currently pursuing her degree in Fine Arts at X University (formally Ryerson University) and loves to teach students how to understand the digital world, how to be safe with it, and how to have fun in it!
